This Privacy Policy explains what personal information HNOrigin (“we”, “us”) collects through hnorigin.com, why, and what choices you have. HNOrigin is an infrastructure engineering knowledge and consulting website.
Information we collect
- Information you send us. When you use the consultation or contact forms, we collect what you enter: your name, email address, organization, the infrastructure area, your problem description, desired outcome and engagement type.
- Technical information. Like most websites, our hosting and security systems automatically log technical data such as your IP address, browser type, pages requested and the date and time of the request.
- Website statistics. We count page visits with Koko Analytics, a statistics plugin that runs on our own website. It records how many times each page is viewed and which website or search engine referred the visit. To avoid counting the same visitor twice in one day, it creates a one-way hash of your IP address, browser user agent and a secret that changes daily. These hashes are deleted every night, and your IP address itself is not stored by the statistics plugin. The statistics stay in our own website database and are not shared with anyone.
- Free tools. Our tools run entirely in your browser. What you type into a tool is not sent to us and is not recorded. Only the visit to the tool page is counted, as described above.
- Cookies. We use only cookies needed for the site to work and stay secure (for example, security and caching cookies, and login cookies for site administrators). Our website statistics do not use cookies, and we do not use advertising or third-party analytics cookies. If that changes, this policy will be updated first.
How we use your information
- To read and reply to your consultation or contact request, and to scope and deliver any work you ask for.
- To keep the website secure, prevent spam and abuse, and fix technical problems.
- To understand which pages and tools are useful, so we can improve the site.
- To meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use form submissions for marketing unless you have separately agreed to it.
Service providers
We use a small number of providers to run the site. They process data on our behalf only as needed to provide their service:
- Hostinger: website hosting and email delivery.
- WPForms: the website form plugin. Submissions are sent to us by email; the free version we use does not store them in the website database.
- Wordfence: website security and firewall, which processes IP addresses to block attacks.
- LiteSpeed Cache: page caching for speed.
- Koko Analytics: website statistics. It runs on our own server; no statistics are sent to its developer.
How long we keep information
We keep form submissions and related emails for as long as needed to handle your request and any resulting work, and then delete them within a reasonable period unless we need to keep them for legal or accounting reasons. Security logs are kept for a limited period by our security and hosting tools. Website statistics are kept only as page-visit counts, which contain no personal information.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or withdraw consent you have given, by contacting us through the Contact page. We will respond within a reasonable time and in line with applicable data protection law.
Security
The site uses HTTPS, a security firewall and regular updates and backups. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please do not send passwords, access keys or confidential customer data through our forms.
Children
This website is intended for professionals and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the website changes. The “Last updated” date above shows when it was last revised.
